Welcome to (the privileged life aka) Stanford!
Picture is from a grad orientation event: sliders, wine, bougie dessert, and we got to sneak out a tray of food! No shame, you gotta do what you need to do to survive. Oh and I met hella engineering students too, makes sense I’m in Silicon Valley -__-
It’s orientation week for grad students so I’m going to try to hit up these events because of free food and free drinks (wine, cosmos, beer)!!! Although I’ve been here for 2 months, I’m so glad that Stanford is finally alive.
Free food and free drinks, I’m coming!
I forgot to mention that Stanford games are free! OMG, LAUNDRY is free too, the machine can email or text you when you are done washing or drying your clothes!

If UCLA is not going to give their decision by the end of March…
Still waiting on Stanford’s financial aid package, but they gave me fellowship money ftw! Getting closer to my goal of living up north.
Picture taken during the summer. I’m sad that it was raining when I visited last week for admit day. I met a lot of privileged students. Also, I think that out of the 100+ people in the room, only 20ish were people of color. Plus, I was saddened at the fact that the panel didn’t talk too much about social justice in education. One of the current students, who’s from Cal, noted that YOU can impact the curriculum. He also emphasized that by taking on STEP, we are making a political statement. He somewhat assuaged my fear/concerns; and so I thought that if I wanted to work on urban ed at Stanford, why not and who’s going to stop me?
